We have all seen the unfortunate decline in prom sales. Each year, fewer kids are getting their pictures taken and the ones that do are ordering smaller packages. This is mainly due to digital cameras, and the ease of seeing your images before arriving at the prom.
The prom business is important to both labs and photographers, so we are very actively trying to solve this problem. To encourage sales, Century Color has made a conscious effort to design products that will appeal to today’s teens. We have designed two new borders that add flare to the 8x10 and 5x7 prints. The borders include the theme of the prom, the date, the school’s name and the title of the prom. We have also designed a funky new poster background. At only $13.00 each, it makes a great advertising piece for the prom committee. On display at the school, it not only showcases your photography but also entices kids to get their picture taken so they can be seen on the poster.
*Tip* In order to book a prom you usually need to provide something extra to the prom committee. Many photographers offer prom programs or invitations. Now Century Color can print press products! You can design it or use the committee’s design, and we can do the printing. It’s an easy way to reel in business!

Spring is just around the corner and the busy season is almost upon us. At Century Color, the employees are working as hard as ever to get ready. This is our time of the year when we work on projects for the upcoming season to ensure that we continue to offer our customers the most innovative products available.
The production staff is working on the never-ending job of refining our workflows to provide both faster turn around time and higher quality. Our equipment maintenance crew is going over each piece of machinery to make sure it is in tiptop shape. The IT people are upgrading the servers, workstations and software and last but not least, the marketing group is busy creating new products and updating existing ones.
On a more personal note, many of the employees are trying to shape up their bodies as well. Century Color is doing a spin-off of the TV show The Biggest Loser, but we are referring to it as The Biggest Loser of the Century. It is a friendly competition to motivate people (young and old alike) to exercise more and eat healthier.
Check out our blog for postings and updates on this exciting challenge.
Don’t forget! The 40% off large prints promotion ends March 31st; order your samples today to whip your studio into shape.

Many of our photographers photograph First Communions in May. Typically, they only offer packages consisting of 8x10s, 5x7s and wallets. Our new product line for this season are personalized thank you cards. We’re certain that these cards will be a big success, but in order for them to sell, your clients need to see the finished card. Therefore, we’re offering a thank you card special to help you get the most out of your First Communion business. For a nominal fee, we will include one thank you card with each package that highlights the child’s image. Once they’ve seen one, they'll definitely want more, which means more sales for you!
