Microsoft's new Windows 7 will be available on October 22, 2009. Century Color has run initial tests and has found some compatibility issues between DataMatch 5 and Windows 7. We hope to be able to fully address these issues after the first of the year. At this time we would highly discourage DataMatch users from upgrading their operating systems. If you do decide to upgrade your system at a later time please notify Century Color by contacting our customer service department.

As this is a busy time of year for most professional photographers it may not be the best time of year to update your operating system even if you don't currently use DataMatch.

With that being said, we have recently had an increase of calls from customers who use Mac computers stating they are having problems with ROES.

Softworks Systems, Inc., of Jamesville, New York, recently upgraded their ROES program. This upgrade has caused some issues for Mac users. Mac users operating with the OS X 10.6 system should not be affected by this update; however, Mac users operating at or below OS X 10.3.9 will no longer be able to utilize ROES.

OS X 10.4 systems are experiencing startup issues with the newer ROES versions due to Java 1.5 not being set as the preferred Java on the system (though it is installed). Many labs across the country offer ROES to their customers for easy ordering, this upgrade is system-wide, it is not specific to Century Color and we have no control or solution for those using older Mac operating systems, other than upgrading.
