August 2010

    • Our summer workshops have started with great success. We've received positive feedback from all attendees and even received a great product idea from Kathy McGarry, who attended our very first workshop (see our ). We are in the process of developing customized laptop covers using our Tacky Back product. Thanks, Kathy! Your idea has generated a lot of interest from other workshop attendees. We are still looking for just the right name for this cool product, and we're taking suggestions via our page.
    • Last year our pilot program for hosting underclass images online was very successful. All of last year's participants are already on board again this year and several additional underclass photographers have also signed up as they realize the value in this service. If you do underclass photography, you definitely want to post jobs online.
    • "" are the perfect addition for a variety of photo sessions. Whether you photograph families, weddings, high school seniors or children these soft-covered books are a great way to capture a variety of images from that shoot. Available in three sizes, 5x5, 8x8 and 9x7, there is sure to be a size, or two, that will be perfect for your clients.
    • One of the topics we touch on in our workshops is the need to identify your brand. Your brand should be what comes to mind (hopefully immediately) when people think about your business. What makes you unique and different from your competition? Determine what it is you want people to remember about their experience with you and your business, then work toward living up to that image. You have to consciously brand yourself; be sure you are marketing your brand through your website, Facebook, blog and print materials.

    • Our summer workshops will be held again on selected Tuesday & Thursdays in July & August. These workshops are small, casual meetings where you have an opportunity to network with other photographers and learn about new software, marketing ideas, and products that will potentially increase your sales and improve your bottom line.

    • Century Color is introducing two new Sports Collections for 2010. We've seen great success with our original sports collection designs, Maroon Mix and Stoneworks. We realize that when you shoot the same leagues year after year you need something new to offer. So this spring we have expanded our Sports Collection to include two new selections, Elements and Americana.
    • Online image hosting made its mark initially in the wedding market. However, in today's world of Face Book and Twitter there is a growing trend for making other photo sessions available online. Last year, we were very successful with our pilot program for hosting underclass images online. This year we are expanding into the High School Senior market.

March 2010

    • If you could create your own album designing software what features would you want to include? Would you want to create your own templates and store them for future use? January 2010

    • Unfortunately our internet server decided it was time to retire! As you may have noticed we have been experiencing difficulties with our web page, ROES, DataMatch and the ability to FTP images.

November 2009

    • We have just received information from the album company that their holiday deadline for albums is Friday, November 20th. This is the date that album orders must be to the album company to ensure return before Christmas.

October 2009

    • Microsoft's new Windows 7 will be available on October 22, 2009. Century Color has run initial tests and has found some compatibility issues between DataMatch 5 and Windows 7. We hope to fully address these issues after the first of the year.

September 2009

    • We would like to thank all of our customers who recently participated in a nationwide survey conducted by Professional Photographers of America (PPA). We gathered some interesting information from this survey.
    • Are your customers looking for something different for their greeting cards this year? Introduce them to one of our elegantly designed off-center fold cards. Off-Center fold cards offer a unique twist to the traditional folded cards.
    • StudioSamplesOnline.com is a special website for Century Color customers. We designed StudioSamplesOnline.com as a way for you to show your clients all the products and designs available to them without having to keep samples of every product on hand.

    • One of our major projects has been updating ROES to make it easier for you to design greeting cards. Earlier this year we updated the system for designing "My Books" and due to the success of that project we set out to duplicate it with designing greeting cards.
