This year Century Color
offered a new Prom Service called Prom Borders. A border design surrounds the
couple’s picture with the following information: name of the school, theme of the prom and date of the prom .
One of our photographers, Tim Breen, offers 5
different packages the night of the prom consisting of 8x10, 5x7 and wallet
units. On one of his proms he let the couples choose between ordering their
pictures with or without these borders. About 14% of the couples ordered their
pictures with the border design resulting in a net profit for Tim of $216.00! The table below shows his results:

Needless to say Tim was
thrilled to make an additional $216.00 in profit that involved no extra work on
his part. The following are some excerpts from a thank you letter Tim sent to
us:

and amazed at the quality and turnaround time. And so was I. The Prom Borders
were a big success and I anticipate a greater percentage of couples will
purchase them next year.
